David Boulia & Thomas Finchum America’s Gold Diving Hopefuls

David Boulia & Thomas Finchum are Ranked 3rd in the world in the men’s 10- meter synchro event (which means that they dive together at the same time) and have already won eight gold medals at the Pan Am games and one bronze at the World Champs Last Season. They will be competing for the good old U.S. of A. in Beijing this summer. GO DAVID, GO THOMAS!

Both have also won multiple medals in their own individual events and will both be competing individually in the 10-meter event. This is a great accomplishment for the two boys who are both eighteen years old. I’m sure that their parent’s gleam with joy inside and out every time they see them preform. They know their boys have practiced at least 30 hours a week to get where they are.(Most kids today don’t even want to give up twenty minutes of television time) I hope that you tune in to watch these boys dive and feel in your heart what their parents feel every time they watch them hit the water.

If I was Michael Phelps, I would be Mad!

Michael Phelps doesn’t even look like someone who is or ever has been on steroids. Swimmers want to be thin and lean, so they can glide through the water, not thick and beefy. Fat actually floats easier in the water then muscle. Everyone always says that girls float easier than boy that is the reason. Some have tossed around the idea that he is the best athlete that ever lived, but that I guess would depend on which sport you like the most. Swimming is, of course, one of my favorites, so he would be on the top of my list for the candidate of best athlete whoever lived. This last year he has broken records that people thought couldn’t be broken. He filled people’s hearts with pride in the last Olympics in Athens winning Six Gold Medals out of his eight events. He will compete in another eight events in this years Beijing Olympics. Will he be U.S.A.’s next Carol Lewis who made every Americans heart flutter and eyes fill with tears, as he won a remarkable nine gold medals. You and I will have to watch, pray, and cheer for my Olympic hopeful Michael Phelps! GO MICHAEL!!

Beijing News Report ; Six Comfirmed Dead and More

I found a report today at Asianews.it that China admitted on 01/29/08 that six workers were killed during the construction of the new Olympic buildings. They were working on the tunnel that will connect the University Area with the Imperial Area, when it collapsed on 3/28/07. In Beijing they are renovating the area where the 2008 Olympics will be held by demolishing old homes and buildings. It seams that they are only leaving very historical sites. The report stated that the Chinese government had tried to cover these deaths up and have covered up other deaths that have occurred in the building of the "bird’s nests." It goes on saying how they will compensate the six mens families that they have admitted to being killed during the construction. The Central Department of Publicity also sent out orders to Chinese media telling them to not listen to bad press. Notes were also sent out to editors to demand Chinese journalists to stay away from any stories that show China in a bad light in the foreign press. They want no stories about air pollution, food security, torch route, or the paralympics. I guess there has been some food poisoning, and something about the torch route and the controversy with Taiwan. I also believe, that this is the first year for the paralympics and that they are worried that there may be violence against them because they are handicap. We may have to take undercover Army to the Olympics just to make sure that our Americans are safe while they are there.

Silvia Ikle Pulls Out of 2008 Olympics

Silvia Ikle has pulled both of her horses, Salieri and Romario out of the 2008 Summer Olympics. To most, it would seem that she is concerned about her horses and their performance in the summer heat at Hong Kong. She has placed other horse owners and riders under the world’s watchful eye for making the decision of taking their horses to compete this summer in the 2008 Olympics. The Olympic officials have also been put under the microscope of every horse owner to make sure that the facilities are going to be in working order and that everything will run smoothly. If you first felt like I did, you thought she was giving up some personal glory for her horse. Well, we were really duped. If she was really going to give up personal glory, she would have pulled her horses out when she first found out that she qualified. This would have given someone else a chance to train and get prepared to go. Silvia announced in 2004 that she would not transport her horses to China and knew that the date for withdrawal was December 31st. If she had withdrawn before this date, someone, else would have been allowed to compete in her place. I guess that this would have allowed some other horse or rider from her country to have taken the gold medal. This may have taken her and her horse off top.
My personal opinion is that one of her horses probably has copd or some kind of bronchial problem.

I say, don’t be duped and that’s Hunters view of the Story!
